We are Nicole (left) and Liza (right), we met at the BFI Film Festival six years ago and found out we live one street away from each other (which is not common in a big city like London!).
After only one local coffee we decided to take the leap and work on a short film together. 'Neext!' was our first project (and shot with a 80% female crew!), it became apparent that we are great duo. Our differences have always been our strengths while are values are the same.
I, (Nicole) come from a human rights background and always believed film is a powerful tool to help change perception and make a difference in the world.
I, (Liza) started as a dancer and actor, founded my own production company where I produced films and went on to research feminist film theory. I love seeing women stand in their power and take up space.
When the pandemic started in 2020 we both felt the need to connect while the world disconnected. We wanted to find a way to stay in touch with filmmakers worldwide, to stay inspired and accountable even though the film industry came to a halt.
In August 2020 we launched the Female Film Club as we know it, an online community and app where filmmakers from all over the world learn together, get challenged, work on their craft and create lifelong connections with like minded creatives.
Together we set on a mission to connect filmmakers worldwide as we don't believe we have all the answers, but we do believe we can get so much further together.
Our voice matters let's make it heard.
